Lakeside Information Kiosks
Summer Studio Design + Build 2016
The 100 Fold Studio Summer Studio design/build project focused on development of design and leadership skills. This program was a six-week initiative that allowed our team of fifteen to complete a project from initial ideation to completed construction.
Our goal was to design information kiosks for the local community of Lakeside, Montana to provide a place where people can learn more about events and activities in the town.
Information Kiosks
Our final design provides beautiful and functional kiosks that contain maps, information booklets, and signage that captures the attention of people driving by. The contrast of the metal and wood capture the materials commonly used throughout Montana. Photo by 100 Fold Studio.
The Process
Ideation
Our team of fifteen worked together to produce a design to meet the wants and needs of our client, the West Shore Visitors Bureau of Lakeside, Montana. We presented our initial design to the client, then refined it based on their feedback.
Documentation
We divided up into smaller teams to create detailed plans and drawings for construction and materials.
Construction
Our team spent two weeks constructing the three kiosks using power tools and different construction methods.
